ESL Youth Plus- Homestay (16 to 18 Years of Age)
Homestay Option
At OHLA, we consider homestay accommodation, one of the most important services we offer. It is cost-effective, and gives student the chance to practice his/her language skills in an informal setting. It also offers a first-hand glimpse into a new way of life.
OHLA inspects all homes and carefully selects the homestay families admitted into the program. The Accommodation Coordinator works to match each student’s request with an appropriate host.
Students are placed with host families. All placements are typically done in “double”, meaning 2 international students are placed in the same host family. However, depending on the gender breakdown we reserve the right to place up to 3 students in the same host family.
Our host families are predominately located in the Kendall area and students receive a local transportation pass to go to and from their families. This pass allows students an unlimited number of journeys during their stays. The journey between the host family and school can be anywhere between 60 to 90 minutes each way.
Note that all host families speak both, English and Spanish at home
This program is in full board. Breakfast and dinners are with the host family and the school organizes all other meals. Meals voucher are provided for the days in the parks.
