Colin Nohr has taken the position of Academic Leader in our Orlando MetroWest campus.
Colin grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and moved to Orlando, Florida, to study for his master’s in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). After studying in Orlando, he decided to stay in the “City Beautiful” to teach and volunteer in the local community.
He completed his bachelor’s in Spanish (with minors in international business, financial accounting, and environmental science) as well as a master’s in TESOL. He will soon complete another master’s in writing and rhetoric with a focus on multilingual writers.
Colin has been teaching and tutoring for 7 years in English, Spanish, SAT, ACT, and TOEFL. Cultivating active minds and staying dedicated to lifelong education keep him motivated as a teacher and a learner.
In his free time, Colin enjoys watching medical dramas like Grey’s Anatomy, reading nonfiction, listening to audiobooks, keeping up with world events, and playing video games. He loves learning about diverse ideas, cultures, and countries from his students and colleagues.
His favorite saying is: “Per ardua, ad astra,” which means “through adversity to the stars.”
